Editorial & Review Methodology
Two rules run this site: every fact needs a source, and every recommendation needs a bar it can fail.
Facts & stories
- Sourcing. Historical and factual claims draw on Wikipedia articles; every landmark, district and story links to its source article so you can check us.
- The "jing ler?" bar. We only keep facts that would surprise a knowledgeable friend. Generic plaque trivia is deliberately excluded.
- Original writing. All prose on this site is written by us. We do not copy hotel, venue or restaurant descriptions from booking platforms or other guides.
Restaurant & street-food selection
- The bar: a Google Maps rating of 4.0 or higher with more than 500 reviews, checked manually in July 2026 (each listing records the rating and review count we saw), or a clearly-labelled heritage pick sourced via Wongnai, Thailand's largest restaurant platform.
- The bar has teeth. Venues that failed were excluded regardless of fame — among them a Michelin-starred restaurant (Google 3.6★) and a Michelin Bib Gourmand noodle shop (3.2★).
- No pay-to-play. No venue has paid, or can pay, to be included. We have no relationship with any listed restaurant.
- Freshness. Ratings drift. We re-check figures periodically and date every claim; if you spot drift, tell us.
Events & schedules
We list only fixed, recurring fixtures (e.g. Muay Thai fight nights, market days) as facts; date-dependent events are always deferred to the venues' and ticket platforms' live calendars, so you never read a stale date here.
