Nana & the Sukhumvit sois
Three sois that hold Middle Eastern, African, Indian and Thai Bangkok side by side — the most internationally mixed stretch of the city.
Soi 3/1 is known as Soi Arab: Middle Eastern restaurants, shisha cafés open past midnight, Arabic shopfronts and travel agencies serving visitors from the Gulf. Most Bangkok guides skip it entirely, which is exactly why it is worth an evening.
Nana Nuea is also the stop for Bumrungrad Hospital, one of Asia's best-known medical-tourism hospitals. That single institution explains the surrounding blocks: long-stay serviced apartments, pharmacies, translators and 24-hour cafés.
The Khlong Saen Saep canal boat calls at Nana Nuea pier. Locals use it to skip the Sukhumvit traffic completely — it is loud, fast and cheap, and one of the last working commuter waterways in the city.
