Sathorn Unique — the Ghost Tower

It was 80% finished — balconies, columns, river views sold — when the 1997 Asian financial crisis hit overnight. Money evaporated, workers walked off, and the tower has stood exactly as they left it for nearly three decades: Bangkok's most famous ghost tower.

Urban explorers made its rooftop a bucket-list trespass until a 2014 death got the doors welded shut. The Thai title of the horror film 'The Promise' (2017) is simply the building's nickname.
