Benchakitti Park & Forest Park
สวนเบญจกิติ
A tobacco factory turned wetland forest — Bangkok's best running loop, on stilts above the reeds.
Jing ler? — no way
The whole park stands on land that belonged to the Tobacco Monopoly. The Forest Park expansion, fully opened in 2022, turned old factory ground into 72 hectares of constructed wetland, with elevated walkways running above the water and reeds.
Jing ler? — no way
A 1.3 km elevated green trail links it directly to Lumphini Park, so you can run from one park to the other without crossing a road — in Bangkok, close to a miracle.
Jing ler? — no way
The original park opened in 1992, the year Queen Sirikit turned 60 — five cycles of the twelve-year calendar, which is what 'Benchakitti' means.
Running it
- Best hours: 06:00–08:00 or after 17:00 — midday heat is punishing.
- Loop: lake circuit plus the forest skywalks; add the green trail to Lumphini for a longer run.
- Getting there: MRT Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, or Asok BTS / Sukhumvit MRT.
